About Mr. Romero

Greetings Burton Tech Community!

It is with great pleasure that I come into the Burton Tech community to continue my passion of teaching. This 2015-2016 school year marks my third year as an educator in the county of Los Angeles. I grew up in the LAX region where I attended Hawthorne High School. It was during my senior year of high school, that a good friend of mine convinced me to go to college. I applied to six schools and got accepted to three; finally I decided to attend San Diego State University (SDSU). It was through volunteering in San Diego that I found a passion for working with youth. After graduating in 2010, I decided to continue my education and pursue my Master's Degree at my dream school, UCLA, and I earned my second degree in the summer of 2013.

Along with teaching, I have several hobbies. I am a nerd at heart as I like to read several books at one time. I am currently reading a book on gangs, a Vince Lombardi autobiography, and I just finished buying a history book. I like to try new things as I try to take advantage of any free time I may have. This summer, I finally got the courage to ride a skateboard for the first time. Lastly, I like to travel; if possible, I would like to visit every NFL stadium as I went to Soldier Field in Chicago last November and I absolutely loved the experience.

Cheers to a good academic year! Feel free to contact me at any time.

Best,
Mr. Romero
