Hello Students and Parents,
I received my B.S. in Social Work from the University of Wisconsin Madison, where I was a PEOPLE full-tuition scholarship recipient. I then moved to New York City to earn my Masters of Science in Social Work at Columbia University.
My role here at BTech is to support all students socially and emotionally, so that they are able to be their most successful in life. I have worked at BTech for the past 4 years. I collaborate and consult with students, parents, staff, administrators, families, and outside organizations to best support everyone’s individual needs. I provide individual and group counseling to support students in becoming their best selves and reach their academic goals. I make referrals to outside organizations to connect students and families to resources. I support our school in creating social and emotional learning opportunities and supportive culture for all students, staff, and families.
I am committed to advocating for the well-being of all students!
I look forward to continuing to serve you and your students!
Ms. Lorena Barbosa, School Social Worker
